Thanks Colin, even without debug symbols that still is probably enough
to confirm it is actually the same crash that I see on my laptop.
While I do not see why it is fatal for the build on LP but not on local
sbuild or dpkg-buildpkg in a local VM it means that most likely someone
looking into this
I was able to fix it for Pop!_Os 21.10 only with 5.16.1 kernel, the
model is ThinkPad E14 G2 (20ta002grt), updates to any 5.15 didn't help
me.

The only evidence of an nvidia driver provided in this bug report is
nvidia-installer.log.txt which shows 367.48 was installed in 2016, and
the bug tag 'possible-manual-nvidia-install'. Both of which indicate an
unsupported driver was installed. I'm just going on the facts provided.

Upon investigation, and per our conversation on IRC, I did some
experimenting with the prebuilt modules. Unfortunately, these use
llvmpipe and don't interface well with nvidia-settings.
Using ubuntu-drivers to install the drivers used *the exact same
