same thing (greyed out install updates during installation ) happened to me
during install, both with wifi and with ethernet.
Important as I cannot connect now to wifi ( sees transmitters but will not
connect ) because I hoped during ethernet install it would correct and replace
any bad drivers.

the process inserts & builds various LVM based volumes.
However the process seems flawed.

(so the default is not to try the power saving). I even tried to enable
hoping that the power saving system would be smart and avoid the lock up
but it didn't work.

Is there any chance the new libtirpc will get backported into 18.04.1?
Not having IPv6-enabled autofs is going to wreck a lot of my workflow
once I start upgrading machines in August. I'm currently running a
custom build of autofs with libtirpc in 16.04 to enable this
functionality.

I'd like to confirm the above observation. With GNOME the user has to
hold down ALT to get the suspend option to appear on shutdown menu (IMHO
this is really poor design). When the ALT key releases it wakes the
computer before it has even really shut down. It is very timing

There was no PHP7 compatible ming when 16.04 released. Adding it seems
like a fair amount of work, when it is available via PECL.
Also, it might be worth seeing if Debian will package it.
Finally, totally my opinion, but flash is dead, let's not try and
