I have two laptops - one was damaged (Xubuntu 17.10) and one was\is ok (Kubuntu

Before putting hdd from damaged laptop to ok one, I tried to run

Sadly, did not receive feedback or some were not able to follow my instructions.
Key was to force BIOS recognizing changes by replacing hard drive. My

Ubuntu 17.10 corrupting BIOS - many LENOVO laptops models

I am new to gEDA, and I see the same issue in gschem.
In the Add Text dialog (Menu / Add / Text) the text entry field is 1 pixel
tall.
The Add Attribute dialog from the first post of this thread does not
have the problem.
I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, 64 bit
$ gschem --version
gEDA 1.8.2 (g87540

Also happens to me very regularly with 32-bit ubuntu 17.10 on an AMD
machine (AMD Turion(tm) II Neo N40L Dual-Core Processor)
Has been happening from 4.13.0-16-generic 4.13.0-22-generic

The failure at end represents a failed login attempt after I switched to
terminal using cmd+alt+F4

I fixed the permissions but it didn't resolve the issue unfortunately.

Same here; via file manager, entering afc://[device's uuid] allows for
file management, but neither Rhythmbox or Banshee can manage audio files
anymore.
Ubuntu 16.04 & elementary OS (based on Ubuntu 16.04).

Guys, a full list of system and touchpad info that *might* be of
assistance in tracking this problem since it seems to manifest
differently on different machines:
[brad@EZB3P ~]$ uname -a //of course ;-)

It looks like this can be fixed by adding "--with-libpython-dir=" to the
configure_flags in debian/rules to set the correct architecture
dependent library path.

issues, so it seems to me that the ubuntu build is definitely broken.

It looks like libgstpythonplugin.so is explicitly deleted in the
debian/rules, presumably because it doesn't currently load due to the
wrong PYTHON_LIB_LOC being set at compile time.
