Note that snapcraft doesn't exclude libraries correctly when that file
is different than xenial's either.

Just a guess, but maybe this could be handled in os-prober.
My initial thought is if grub could check whether a specific desktop
meta-package is installed and use that name instead of Ubuntu. I think
"Ubuntu" should still be the name if more than one metapackage is
installed instead of trying to p
If needed, the metapacakages could add an additional file to make it
easier for os-prober to identify them.

Ubuntu better. We noticed that you were installing the LTS version of
Ubuntu using an older version of the installation media. The latest
point release of 16.04 is 16.04.1. Please try installing from that
version of the installat
I can't reproduce the issue on Fedora 4.9.5-200.fc25.x86_64 either.
As you pointed out, setting the fsuid/fsgid to a known userns mapping does work.
