Just installed Ubunut 14.04 on my Aspire 5100 laptop. Problem still
exists. Screen flickers beyond usability after suspend/resume. Hibernate

Ubuntu 14.04 from ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-prereleases, both 32-bit
and 64-bit, the splash screen appears, soon followed by a Fatal Error
dialog:
The application cannot be started.

The problem still exists in Ubuntu 12.04. In my case it occurs when
changing both HDs from 1TB to 3TB size of the same type. With the 1TB
drives, the problem did not occur.

I also have an Acer Aspire 5100. I just installed Ubuntu 14.04 and I
have this exact problem. The machine boots fine, but after a suspend the
screen tears/flickers so badly that the machine is unusable. Note that
the problem does not occur with hibernate.

Under Kernel 3.13 and 3.15.0-031500-generic the Toshiba hotkeys Fn+F6
and Fn+F7 to control screen brightness (Satellite L300) only work after

Also, you would not see the leak using memory_get_usage() because the
memory is leaked outside of PHP, but due to PHP's mishandling of the
connection. So dismissing the bug reporter on this basis was not really
fair.

There are debugging dump statements left in this patch,
that print the username on every auto-login attempt to the console.
This might be a security issue, because it is now easy to tell when

My question is Why in new version of apt-get,it's must check file
descriptors?

I've had issues ith your patch; see the attachment for details. I'm
using a SoundBlaster Extigy, but until I found this bug I thought the
problem was related to bluetooth devices. I know that there's a problem
when my keyboard autorepeats.
Let me know what other information might help.

did you ever get resolution to this? I have the same mother board with
the exact same problem, i've even tried a fresh install of 12.04. the
video playing fast is corrected, but still no audio through HDMI. there
is audio through the head phone jack though.
