same thing happening on my boxes here, also running Hardy. Another
solution, though somewhat less secure (but OK for me since the scanner's
only accessible to my LAN) is to just tell xinetd to run saned as root.
On my box then, /etc/xinetd.d/saned reads:
service saned

The version of ubuntu you're using normally comes with a newer kernel
than that and you're probably doing something unsupported. You might bug
your host and ask them to update to a modern version of the kernel.

I think the same happens to me with 3.5.10 & hardy:
FYI: I can't even select it to print duplex, it claims the driver
doesn't support it or something. The printer is capable to print duplex.
1) Printed a two page document, one page/side: duplex
2) Printed a ~20 page document, 4 pages/side: no dup
Since yesterday I'm using NVIDIA 177.70 driver, and problem seems to be solved.
gnome-panel spans just one monitor and maximizing windows is bounded by one
monitor.

i think its still a bug since through gsynaptics it cannot be controlled
properly...
has to be controlled through using man synaptics and xorg!
so the gsynaptics software is still not taking full controll of the touchpad

I have been reading some information about gnutls and the upstream
developers discourage the use of gnutls in favour of nss. I would be
interested if the PPA update fixes your issue, but I believe we may have

Just an added note, i get the GPE storm detected in kernel 2.6.27.

I updated to 2.6.27-2 yesterday and one of my hard drives is no longer
recognized.( 80 gig usb ext3) and continues to work fine on a Hardy machine.
