Upstream's input-hotplug+HAL was not stable enough for Hardy so we've
postponed the work until Hardy+1. Additionally, I'm not certain the
wacom driver was updated to take advantage of input hotplug anyway.
Anyway, this bug cannot be solved for hardy, so we need to postpone it.

as I can see from the apt outputs you have pasted, you seem to miss out
the sudo part a lot of times when issuing the command. For using apt-get
or dpkg you always need to issue with sudo preceding it. At the same

Thanks for this bug report. Did you run "sudo update-initramfs -u" to
update the initramfs? This happens automatically when you update your
linux kernel but otherwise, this is always needed to type this command
to apply modifications in /etc/usplash.conf .
