Have you removed the intel X driver from 16.10 ? Are we not accelerated anymore
with 16.10 distribution?

The bug can not be reproduced on 16.10.
Indeed I tried a simple test such as
gst-launch-1.0 videotestsrc ! xvimagesink
On 16.10, the video is NOT always on top.
On 16.04, the video is always on top.

Christorpher, first thank you for your concern.
1) I just buy this computer and the previous releases were not correctly
working whith the hardware that's why i chose this release and test it only.
2) I did not have time to test this issue seen that i was facing other HW issue
such as network.

When playing a video with vlc, gstreamer(xvimagesink), the video stays on top
of every X window.
In VLC this bug can be bypassed disabling overlay video.
In Gstreamer using ximagsink is ok too.

I'm experiencing the same issue using ubuntu 16.04 and a toshiba Tegra and i
would like to keep this version as it is an LTS.
If i understand well the bug is fixed using 16.10 but when can we expect a fix
for 16.04 or do you have an idea on what could i do to workaround this bug.
