My computer wouldn't boot after upgrade from 14.04 to 14.10. Picking an older kernel resolved that bit, and then the error reporting lands me here. After some debugging, installing memdiskfind and running dpkg --configure -a the boot issue got resolved. Not sure if the problem are related really,

Yep, still getting this tty spam multiple times every time update-grub runs from apt. Not when running update-grub, not when running dpkg- reconfigure linux-image-*, only when running apt install. So probably this should be a bug on apt. Suppressing it by setting LVM_SUPPRESS_FD_WARNINGS works, of
