Oh, I didn't close this sorry. I agreed with Julian a few months ago
about the regression potential, and we decided to leave it there. This
should be okay in Noble+ due to switching to deb822 sources, which has
much better support for options.

other libraries/tools could handle. As I mentioned, my sources weren't
migrated during past upgrades either (because of the signed-by option
which I added in 2022).
