I used the changes noted in your fontconfig merge request (applied to
files in /etc/fonts/conf.avail/ 30-metric-aliases.conf and
45-latin.conf) and it cleared up kerning issues I was having with a

This morning I tried to use my laptop. I think it was suspended, but not
deep suspended (screen off, but was attached to AC). When I tried
resuming it, the screen went on, but instead of the gnome login, I was
