Besides issues with buttons I experience transparency in dialog menus (where
should not be any transparency).
The updated xorg does not help (I've double check this).
Downgrade mesa fixes this.

I'm not incredibly happy about this approach (doing it in pam_env.so
would be best I think) but it does the job for now. I verified this in a
minimal bionic image with and without base-files from proposed and the
behaviour was as expected.

It should be possible to specify sector-size option in crypttab now, in
ubuntu. And it should be supported by both initramfs-tools and systemd,
depending on which one does the mount. Please test this, and let me know

There is a similar situation where apt-get wants to remove packages when
strict dependencies (equal version number) cannot be met. For example
dovecot-core/dovecot-pop3d/dovecot-imapd.
After installing Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS from the ISO, install the 3 packages
from the release pocket:
$ sudo apt ins
As noted in duplicate bug report 1790693 this prevents upgrades from
Cosmic to happening so the fix should be SRU'ed to Ubuntu 18.04.

We need a crash dump to be able to investigate this. Apport can probably
help you with apport-collect 1790613 or something. Without a crash dump
we don't see where it crashed and thus can't do much.

Originally had this issue on my ThinkPad T570 running Ubuntu 16.04 and
added a bug report to this issue. Yesterday, I upgraded to Ubuntu 18.04
and the problem still exists. Please advise if additional detail would

On 16.04 I had no problems. On 18.04 systemd-resolved fails to resolve
host name without domain (using nslookup) even though DNS server is
reported by systemd-resolve --status. If to provide DNS to nslookup
explicitly, then the name is resolved.
