On the other hand, maybe we need to treat disabling the default colour
profile as a workaround.
I forgot to mention that in at least one case I noticed similar problems
in web browsers and image viewers even when using a properly custom
calibrated profile for my display.
So a real fix might have

changed the Input Method from xim to ibus and the problem was gone.
Changing back to xim did not bring the problem back. I'm confused that

I am also having a similar issue in Ubuntu 18.04.
This happens right after opening some tabs and streams. The network icon stays
there, but internet drops. Restarting the wifi doesn't solve the problem most

The way the german keybooard is layed out, some essential keys like
brackets and backslash are very awkward to type (right hand holding Alt-
GR in bottom row and pressing the key right of the 0-key in top row to
get a back

The packet postgresql-plperl (and probably other addon packages for
postgresql) blocks do-release-upgrade from 16.04LTS to 18.04LTS.
This requiresthen requires a complete dump-and-restore cycle:
1) Stop user applications
2) do a full database export
3) stop postgresql
4) uni

This issue effects a manual (debootstrap) installation of 18.04.1.
Ethernet devices are unmanaged by NetworkManager until a netplan
configuration is added.
