I have a similar issue in 17.10. When I launch a new x session for a
game it will drop it to my s/pdif output. Setting the default sink in
/etc/pulse/default.pa and commenting out module-switch-on-connect has no
effect. This is horribly frustrating.

Yes correct, it uses it's own wireless dongle. But since this is the
issue, shouldn't I update pulseaudio instead of the kernel?
I already have the latest stable one, 4.13, and the 4.14 is not out yet
(To avoid issues like Nvidia Module compatibility). I will try
installing 4.12 to see what happen

1x mini DP
1x DisplayLink USB3 to DVI/VGA
1x Laptopscreen Lenovo x230
And my mouse cursor blink, disapear or duplicate on some top bar of some
windows.
I'm using Linux Mint (based on Ubuntu) and to solve this problem, I
added 2 lines on my /etc/environment :
I'm seeing this on my artful system:
$ apport-collect ...
You need to run 'sudo apt-get install python-apport' for apport-collect to work.
$ dpkg -l | grep apport

Just a quick clarification, first boot/shutdown will still not be clean,
but subsequent ones (those that are booted with the updated mdadm
package) should be clean.
