Same problem here - booting kubuntu 17.10 using the new, default
'lowlatency' kernel led to a black screen. Manually selecting the
'generic' kernel via the advanced options in grub worked fine. I've got
an nvidia 780 card.

Oops. I did locate the directory on a backup. As you supposed, I had
created queue.py initially to do the test. I re-ran it as 'q.py' to see if
that helped, but did not delete the original. So you were right -- name
conflict.

In essence, bleutooth and wifi operate on similar (the same) frequencies
and will interfere. Normally this is handled in the firmware/kern
I can confirm the existence of the problem.
Occured with Ansible on Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS (with Ansible 2.4.0.0-1ppa~xenial).

The blank screen issue was always there, right?
I think use modesetting driver instead of intel DDX should fix the issue.
You can either use xorg.config or "apt purge xserver-xorg-video-intel" to
switch to modesetting driver.
