We could theoretically make the one USC instance appear (differently) on
multiple VTs. In tinkering with Mir's VT code I came to realize that VTs
are truly a virtual concept. If you ignore the existence of VTs then you
can still forcefully start up your system compositor on the screen.

updates) caused my left mouse button to fail after a while. I tried
several mice and USB ports, all the same. Login out and in a gain is a
remedy. Restart not necessary. It feels as this is a lightdm bug.

Right, my hack is almost the same as --no-hosts, it just doesn't require
patching libvirt.
Do you need that entry in your /etc/hosts? If you have a real DNS name,
you might not need it at all. If not, but you have a static IP address,
you could use that in the hosts file instead of 127.0.1.1.

Ah, zesty still has 232-19 but this is presumably fixed in zesty-
proposed’s 232-21ubuntu1.
