In these cases, mirout is correct - your display has exactly one mode it
can be driven at. X adds a whole bunch of fake “standard” modes, but
they're just that - fake. Selecting one of the fake modes does not
change the video mode; instead, it scales

I'm experiencing a similar problem on a brand new dell xps 13 with
16.04LTS. Sometimes when typing the focus jumps to the bottom left
corner near the trash icon. I've also noticed it jumping to other parts
of the screen, but perhaps that's due to the sensitivity of the

This shouldn't have been marked invalid. It has caused me and apparently others
grief. It wouldn't be hard to have the upgrade tool check for uncommented
cgroup lines, given they blow up an upgrade.
I'm glad my experience and work around helped someone else who ran into the
same things.

I'm having this with my Lenovo Thinkpad T420. It happens around 1 time
out of 3. Sometimes the connected wifi icon is replaced by the ethernet
one, sometimes by the unconnected wifi icon.
