I experience this issue with Ubuntu 16.04 on an Asus UX303LN laptop. The
temporary fix of installing xserver-xorg-video-intel seems to work for
me too.
I can provide log-files or test fixes if that would help us resolve the
problem.

When using apparmor variables for the mountpoint in mount rules, the
parser will parse the rule but the kernel blocks it.
Eg, this works:
# works
mount -> /home/*/mnt/,
This doesn't:
mount -> @{HOME}/mnt/,

I see this also on BQ M10 including on OTA-12 current rc-proposed. There
is no reliable to way to reproduce that I can find, but if I open
multiple tabs and then close 1 of them there is a chance that it closes
the whole browser. I don't think the browser is crashing, because I
don't see crash repo
I've set up a dot1x environment using PEAP/MSCHAPv2 with LDAP
integration at home, but I haven't seen the problem any time when
delete-and-connect to it...
