OK - I'll chalk this one up to the timer issue I mentioned.
Taking out "nolapic_timer" from grub options has allowed pulseaudio to
detect and use high precision timers and it has performed much better
(lower CPU usage, concurrent streams OK) - I still get the occasional

15.10. This is a real show stopper to this being brought into a
production environment. I found the same as post from Tristan on
2015-12-11. I CAN run command line but it is a pain to enter my
username/pwd every time I need
Yep, unfortunately those are signed with md5, so it's normal that gnutls
will no longer connect.
You need to request those certs be changed, and use the older version of
gnutls26 in the meantime.

I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but I'll add this to
the bug report because it can be a workaround:
If you have chosen to login automaticaly, logoff and in the logon screen
you'll notice the keyboard has changed (icon next to clock). Now just
change it back to your preference and

Just filed a bug for this exact issue before realizing its already filed.
Ticking the "save password" does fix the issue, but I think that's not the way
it should work. Even without saving the password, the Eduroam network still
appears under "previous networks", so that means at least some info
it makes it unusable ubuntu

My biggest issue with this is that if you watch videos as a commuter you
will be hit by this issue every day which doesn't make for a great user
experience.
If the tapping on yes were to continue playback then the video plays as
the user would expect, I think this then become a more user friendly
