i82975x_edac module,
adding a the line

in the file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
After unsuccessfully trying out a lot of things and many reboots the
final hint to my "solution" came in messag

Also, what version of LightDM? This might have occurred with 1.11.8
which was used at the time the ISO was built. It had an issue where some
video hardware wasn't being detected as usable including in VMs. It has
since been replaced with 1.11.9 which should start fine.

Hi Christopher. The BIOS I have is already an F8 version variant and I
would like to keep the variant. Further, I have not had this problem in
the 6 years of owning the hardware until 14.04. So further to Darren's

Second crash (after applying Ricardo's fix) appears to be unrelated to
qtubuntu-camera or camera-app, and is instead caused by an issue in the
QML compiler when being terminated whilst still compiling components
asynchronously, I've opened a new bug to track that issue here:

[manta] video playback current
This breaks because disk_cache::VerifyStats() fails the signature check
for the cache stats (the actual signature appears to be all zeroes,
which might suggest that the stats aren't ever serialized to disk. This
happens in 2 places - on a 30 second timer and during shutdown).
