SM-1.4.6 Release Candidate 1 has been available since Dec 10, 2005, that
is more than two months ago.
Anyone knows when the final 1.4.6 release will available?

Is there a way that Squirrelmail can be setup so that when a user logs
in their IMAP folders are set to their default folders instead of having

Do you mean not saving any user preferences concerning which folder will
be used for inbox or sent mail or draft?
If you do then I'd think that removing the preferences for it would be
better, because people will not even know they *could* change it and then
wonder why it does not work...
