I spoke too soon. When I reinstalled some of our other web
applications, some configuration change somewhere screwed up
SquirrelMail again.
My work-around is to install apache and squirrelmail on a different
machine for the time being. I'll figure it out later.

Yes indeed. That did the trick.
Odd that it didn't seem to affect other php pages... Oh well.
