My quick 2cents: You are better off running qmail over sendmail due to
security and much better support for virtual domains. Transition for me
was fairly easy, but not exactly straight forward. Look at the life with

I'm running Qmail 1.03 with Vpop
I installed QMAIL + VPOPMAIL + COURIER IMAP + SQUIRRELMAIL...
it working fine with me...
if u going to have 2000 users and 200 virtual domains, u better go for qmail
( my option is easy configure )
the pros and cons basically is talking about mailbox and maildir..
