Disregard last emaili went through all the steps that people
provided...it was adding .php to the directoryindex...i misspelled it like a

I got Squirrel Mail to access the area it needed on the mac by adding a
symbolic link to the applicable ~/Sites folder.
ln -s /usr/share/squirelmail ~/Sites/webmail
Then you should beable to access it by
http://localhost/~user/webmail

Either the /squirrelmail directory doesn't exist or your permissions are
wrong. Your webserver's log files should give you some better clues as to
where the problem is. On RedHatish boxes, look at
/var/log/httpd/error_log. Another possiblity is you may need to restart
the webserver so that it pi

thing to do is make sure the port is open. Get a program like NMAP ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ )
