I've been having this same problem over here as well. The only thing is
that if you click on the 'download' option instead of the name of the
attachment, the message downloads uncorrupted. If you click on the name
of it instead, it gets corrupted.

Well, I think you should upgrade your PHP 4.1.0 or above. I had the same
problem before. I posted the way I solved this problem on an earlier post.
I finally upgraded my PHP to 4.1.0 and it worked!
I have no problem downloading attachments now with
