thanks for the help.
my problem was that I was using php 5. which is not yet supported by sm.
I was suggested by p dont think to change back to php 4. I did that
and now everything is ok and fine.

Please consult google or our mailing list archives before posting. If
you had done so, you might have found that php5 is not officially
supported, but you might also find some proposed fixes. Happy digging...
