There you have it. Try using courier's POP3 server to reduce the
confusion or go figure out why xmail isn't refreshing its auth creds (if
it is even using the same backend...)

Swap to Courier's POP3 and the problem will go away. If you don't swap,
the problem will not go away and there's nothing you can do about it.
