I have self resolved this. I went into the config.pl for SM and
changed IMAP & SMTP settings to localhost and also changed
/etc/mailname to example.com rather than hostname.example.com.
Now everything works perfectly

After changing server ip address i am getting this
error on sending mails from squirrelmail web intrface.

While I can send mails from outlook. I remmeber I do
not define actual ip address of qmail installation.
Every where i used
Changed the useSendmail option in the config.php file to false and was able
to send mail. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

I just installed squirrelmail-1.2.10-1.
My setup is:
OS:Red Hat 8.0
MTA: qmail
IMAP: courier-imap
Everything is working. Mail can be sent and received using imap. With
squirrelmail I can receive mail with no problem but I cannot send mail. I
have made most of the suggested changes to the conf
