If in thread view there can be a reply to a message which the folder view
says is there ( having used filters to put in folder ) but then going to
the folder in thread view the message could be buried several pages down.

Please consider coding a javascript snippet into the Compose screen so
that the focus (the cursor) is in the To: textbox - this would set the
user up to start typing in an address right away.
