what doesn't make any sense is i don't see the script
timing out for 30 seconds..

ok it works!
I checked the log earlier today and it made it up to
19kb. so it's definatly the right php.ini. plus i
checked the symlinked php.ini in /etc/apache/conf
pointed to the one i was editing.
the error is hard to recreate so i'll post when i can
get some info :)

I turned on mod_gzip and phpaccelerator in hopes that
they might fix the timeout problems. i wasn't sure
exactly what was causing them :P. The problems have
existed for months and months before i ever enabled
those two things. I can go ahead and disable them
though until i find what's causing th

We get this error in Konqeuror too. And we also got
this error back when our server didn't use https for
webmail.
