Hi,
I'm running SM 1.2.11 on a FreeBSD server. Everything is running smoothly, but SM
seems to ignore the language settings made by the user and switches to English
instead. Interestingly, the online-help system doesn't and displays the text in the
selected language.
Any advice for me?

You remembered to enable it in the config file? Run config/conf.pl
and go to the plugins option. Mak

It's broken if you use register_globals set to On in the php.ini
file.
For some reason, I can't seem to get this to work. AFAIK, I've
installed it correctly. Is there a "debug" mode that I can use to
figure out what's going on?

I found out the problem.
if you turn Globals=On on php.ini then it will remember them right away and
it
works.
I wonder if there is patch for this
This is the "trick" that I have been using also. That is, make your
choices, hit submit, and then hit browser refresh. I am not using any
databases. I had the same issues with 1.2.10.

I am seeing the same problem. One thing I noticed is after making the
changes, if I refresh the entire site (hit browser refresh) and not just
the frame. Then the setting stick.

As a note, we currently don't suggest 4.3.
