This I can't answer. It's one of the gripes I have with the IMAP server

That's good feedback.
On a curious note:
- what is the total diskspace usage for all mail users?
- what is the hardware (mailserver and squirrelmail) and load on it?
- Do you have quota for your users?
- What is the limit of attachment size and does users want bigger ones?
