Have I done something wrong or is this a bug within the system?
I believe 1.4.0 had base_dir problems that I think I fixed in a later
release. Please install the most up to date version of the software
(why would you make a brand new install of out of date software?) and
repost if it is still a pr

I have just installed SquirrelMail 1.4.0 on my system and seem to be having
issues with the links in the top of the main window for
compose/addresses/folders/etc.
I have the system installed in /egs/src/squirrelmail and all the other links
work correctly (for example the 'refresh folder list' link
