meant to be turn-key (tho I may be contracted for on-going
maintenance and support). As such: I'm disinclined to go outside the
standard distro environment for anything other than security reasons.

This morning I tested using standard http: and still had the same
problem. Would it be helpful if I created a test mailbox, sent a message
with a receipt request to it, and took a packet dump of the traffic
between the SM and IMAP servers while trying to rea

I don't think we had this problem until we started using https:, but I
don't know why that would cause it.

I'm running Squirrelmail 1.4.3a... My mailbox is not large, as I
typically check my mail with POP and delete it off the server. There were
probably around a dozen messages taking up less than a meg.
I have only the squirrelspell plugin activated.
As a quick fix, I installed squirrelmail on anot
ckly. None of my system logs have any unusual messages.
Any suggestions on what the problem might be?
Running software:
- Redhat Linux 9
- Apache 1.3.1
- PHP 4.3.8
- Qmail 1.03
- Courier Imap 2.1.2
- named (Bind 9.2.1-16)

IMAP is not the most favorable mechanism for storing large numbers of
files. Not sure how gmail does it but it looks like archived messages
are moved to an indexed auxiliary store,

Well, the suggested hack to the page_header.php didn't work. The forward
slash was just dumped out into the html, yet it wasn't dumped out when
composing mail. I haven't tried the other hack though.
Looking at the code of page_header.php, it looks fine. Haven't looked at
the code of compose.
I am new to Squirrelmail and was hoping that someone could help me with
this.
I have searched the mailing list and found similar problems but with no
resolution.
Squirrelmail version is 1.4.1 installed from the tar file.
System that Squirrelmail is running on.

squirrelspell is looing for load_prefs.php and validate.php in ../src/
but in 1.4.1 these file live in ../include/
However, when I change this it then complains about SM_PATHclass :-(

Need to amend the default compose->editor window size so

The following pdf trouble only affects my Netscape browser, IE works ok. I
would have assumed if the Netscape email 'messenger' can call the correct
pdf reader that SM running under Netscape should be able to also call the
