I reinstalled php4 + all ports installed via php4-extensions and then

-4.4.6 (including modules for session, pcre, ssl, mysql etc)

squirrelmail-1.4.9a
Ps. I first found this problem in squirreloutlook-1.0.3 but after
switching to squirrelmail I found that I had the exact same problem
there.
