There is no problem with 'From' or 'Reply-to'.
So everything in Personal Information appears to be coming out correctly in emails.
FYI: I noticed a small technical error in my original report of the problem.

I would like to make a theme where I can use a background image

I installed 1.2.9 on a RedHat 7.3 with php-4.1.2-7, vadmin-1.0.2-1,
