[SM-USERS] calendar reminder feature disabled

How do I enable the calendar reminder option? The option I am referring to is the one provided by the shared calendars plugin. When I create or edit a task I am unable to set a reminder. The control is disabled and will not let me adjust it. I am guessing that I am missing a plug in, however I
