reason I'm not fond of appliances like
Barracuda that automatically bounce the message saying the user doesn't
exist. In your case, it might be that some of these users actually don't
exist, but that's no help, is it?

I also have Joomla installed on this site. Joomla also uses PHP4, and
it appears to be working flawlessly.
As I am unfamiliar with PHP, I'm not sure if there's any other info
that might be useful in debugging this.
Any ideas?
