Thanks for the pointer. I did the memory changes suggested, and that
seemed to solve the problem for now. Reading all the posts though it
sounds like a memory leak in the code somewhere...so I'll cross my fingers
and restart apache/php daily and hope it doesn't happen again.

This seems to happen more when trying to access folders that hold large
numbers of messages, but can happen on any folder at any time.
PHP version is 4.2.2
