Try disableing the small calendar plugin if you have it installed. The
shared calendar has its own version of the small calendar separate from
the small calendar plugin and the two will confict.
I found this out the hard way - I had missed that fact in the documentation.

Check Quota. It works great. Make sure to follow directions as you have to
make some config changes to your system for it to work on your box. It
uses the check quota function on your system to check the user quotas. If
you have user quota's setup to begin with.
