I think I figured it out...
I changed
drwx--. 5 cyrus mail 4096 Dec 9 10:37 imap
to
drwxrwx---. 5 cyrus mail 4096 Dec 9 10:37 imap
and
in cyradm, I had previously created mailboxes with
cm user1
cm user2
instead of
cm user.user1
cm user.user2
I don't know if the "user." prefix is manda
