Thanks to you & Paul for your input. Despite sendmail being turned off in rc.conf (and never used in 5+ years), there was a sendmail process running. Simply killing the sendmail process rectified the problem. So it appears that sendmail was being used to send mail from SQMail, although Postfix

Hi, I'm running the latest version (1.4.10a) of SQMail available on FreeBSD, with Postfix & Courier IMAP handling the back-end stuff. Some while ago it became apparent that I could no longer use Webmail to send mail to local users; remote users work fine. There is no problem mailing local users
