You right, the host also could be suspiciouse - UPC Hungary - they
frequently changes configurations, without annoncement :(
Also sm (1.4.9a) for Debian stable does not changed for very long time!
Unfortunatelly I do not realized what time exactly the functionality is

You right, of course the sm is a great product, I'm use it for many years.
I'm using default for Debian/Etch mta exim4 - with "smart host" - I do not
have MX record at all. Method, send a manually initiated answer (where you
can choose the return address), only a workaround - may be does
