Yes ... preferences are stored in a database.
I'm checking with the plug-in list right now to see how I can subscribe.
You might just search the plugins and users lists for this problem. It
was solved not so long ago on one of those lists. For fun, I am now

I found the answer. If you want a file based Global address book upgrade
to the CVS version. It has an option for it in the conf.pl.
sidenote: to fix the problem of seeing non-mail files in squirrelmail when
you click on folders is to change the default prefix in the conf.pl file
to /mail.
