I guess I'm confused by the entire threading feature. Is it done by SM,
cyrus, a deliver time, or read time? I really wouldn't like to get this
feature working, but I can't find a lot of information on it. Point me in
the right direction and I will document my findings.

I just finshed the upgrade from 1.4.2 to 1.4.3a and for the most part

No. SquirrelMail has no control over message delivery since it is just
