I have Squirrelmail working accept that I cannot send mail through it.
I get the following error:
Syntax error in parameters or arguments
Server replied: 501 Authentication failed - bad user or password.
This is on Mercury/32 version: Mercury/32, v4.01a, Dec 8 2003

Agh. Now I get it. As you suggested, I simply entered the sender address in
the Options-Personal Information in the /webmail/ interface. Now, when a
user sends an email via SM, the sender address shows up as whatever they
entered in Options-Personal Information. That is what I was trying to do all

We have change our control panel and now we are using Cpanel I just want to know
what could be the path for data and attachment.
$data_dir = SM_PATH "../../sqmaildata/" ;
$attachment_dir = SM_PATH . "../../squirrelmail-attachments/";
I had to reboot the machine, SM killed or blocked apache and apache
restart was not enough to solve the problem.

I've got local Linux users on my server (localhost.localdomain). Where I'm
getting stuck.confused are the steps to create user accounts for their own
domains eg: domain1.com and domain2.com, so I can then use SM to login in
the way you describe.

about "ERROR : Connection dropped by imap-server." There was a post

i have SQ mail 1.4.2 on RHL 9.when i try to login through SQ mail it
always redirect me to error paeg and says that login/password inccorect
