Initially I had not restarted xinetd, but I realized that may have been a
factor and restarted that. I can connect now

PHP script installation and the Telnet command line interface. My hosted server
does not have IMAP installed. After installing SM I found IMAP was not
pre-installed. Is installing the IMAP distribution within the scope of a newbie?

SquirrelMail fetches your mail using IMAP. If you don't have an IMAP
server available (and this could be your ISP's IMAP server, it doesn't
have to be your own), SquirrelMail won't be muc

I am trying to get ASPELL 0.50.2 to work with
SquirrelMail. I have compiled it under root and have tried aspell –c
test.txt and it works fine.
I have some questions to ask:
1) Does aspell have to be owned by apaches (user:group) to
work with SquirrelMail
