SquirrelMail does not have an authentication system beyond whatever the
IMAP server uses. Sounds like y
Check your php.ini file for the session.cookie_lifetime setting. If this
is set to zero, cookies don't expire. If it's set to a specific value,
your users will be logged out after this number of seconds of
inactivity.
In spite of having mine set to zero, I find my squirrelmail sessions
logging out
...
