Solr 3.6 is very old - I don't expect that many people here will have
current knowledge about it.
What it *looks* like to me is that you have hard stopped Solr - i.e.
kill -9 or something, and then when you attempt to restart it, it can't
do so because the lock file is in place. With Solr stopped,
