I'm submitting data via Liferay that uses Apache Lucene/Solr for searching
feature. Nothing is done directly on Solr.
solrconfig.xml is actually done in this way:

ExtractingRequestHandler (defined in your solrconfig.xml)?
If so, there is already a mechanism for that. Just search for ignored
